B. M. Lee

“Writing on PTSD, Moral Injury, and the Echoes We Carry”

B. M. Lee is a Marine Corps veteran whose writing is shaped by lived experience, quiet battles, and the long road of healing after war. His work blends raw reflection with grounded storytelling, giving voice to the unseen weight so many carry but rarely speak about.

He is the author of Between the Echoes: The Reality of PTSD and its companion workbook, as well as fiction including Chasing Echoes: Between Shadow and Silence and Lucky. Across both nonfiction and fiction, Lee explores identity, loyalty, moral injury, and the meaning we pull from the moments that shape us.

His writing is direct and unpolished in the best way, rooted in honesty and presence, meeting readers where their own echoes live.

Outside of his books, B. M. Lee leads workshops on communication, values, and leadership through Skilled Development LLC, helping others grow with clarity and intention.

My Story

I never planned on becoming an author. Writing began as a way to wrestle with the weight I carried after my time in the Marine Corps, the memories, injuries, and moments that never fully let go. For years, those battles stayed silent until I realized that putting them into words might help me understand them, and maybe help someone else feel a little less alone.

That first step became Between the Echoes: The Reality of PTSD and its companion workbook, offering an honest look at life with PTSD, moral injury, and the long road of healing. From there, the work expanded. Through fiction, including Chasing Echoes: Between Shadow and Silence and Lucky, I explore many of the same truths from a different angle, identity, loyalty, moral injury, and the gray spaces that linger long after service ends.

Valuing Echoes: Holding Your Center turns inward, reflecting on grounding, identity, and the values we hold onto when life gets loud. It’s quieter in tone, but no less weighty, inviting readers to slow down and reconnect with what steadies them.

My hope is simple: that these words remind others they aren’t alone, and that even in the darkest echoes, there is still something worth carrying forward. I’m still writing, still listening, and still uncovering the stories and reflections that continue to take shape.
